Book review - In a Dark Dark Wood by Ruth Ware

I’ve been enjoying alot of Ruth Ware’s books lately. I read this one in just a few days as it had my attention from the first chapter.

Nora and Claire were best friends growing up but that changed 10 years ago. Nora walked out of her old life and never contacted Claire again. Then one day Nora receives an invitation to Claire’s hen weekend in a remote cottage. This could be the opportunity to reconnect after all the years and leave the past behind.

Except something goes very wrong.

Nora wakes up in hospital knowing something terrible has happened. She just has no recollection of what happened in the cottage.

The book switches from present to the past as Nora tries to piece together the weekends events. Also what caused the fallout between the friends from a decade ago.

I did guess where the story was going and how it was going to end but that didn’t spoil the book for me.
