Sunday reset
Whilst I have heard about a Sunday reset online, I only realised last month why this practice is recommend.
Hubby and I love our Sunday brunch routine which we’ve enjoyed for years. We’ll have a slow start to the day, then go out for a delicious brunch and enjoy a leisurely late morning/early afternoon with great food and coffee. We’ll then stop off at the shops on the way home, get groceries and in the afternoon we’d go for a drive or spend time in the garden.
No plans, no set to-do list, just an easy chilled day. But one Sunday last month we had alot to do before going on leave and skipped our brunch. Ate at home and then got around to doing things we’d put off during the week. The day went quickly but by the evening we’d ticked off loads of things that saved us time that week. Going on leave we had less rushing around as we’d prepped alot the previous weekend.
And so this Sunday reset is becoming a new habit for us. We do our grocery shop earlier on the weekend and get what we need for a relaxed breakfast at home on Sunday. Then we get through chores and tasks that have built up during the week. In between we’ll brew some coffee and spend time outside. Afterwards we might take a walk or go out for a snack and a drink somewhere - we take each Sunday as it comes.
What has amazed me is how organised I feel at the end of a Sunday evening. The house is clean and tidy, the ironing is done and I’m ready for the week. Each Sunday can be slightly different. This week we concentrated on the bathrooms and hubby cleaned the shower (always a chore I don’t enjoy). I finally finished my home office update (I love it and will share photos soon).
We had breakfast out on Saturday morning, did some shopping afterwards and I did some reading so it was a great weekend. We are keeping Saturdays as is - so the weekend is both fun and productive.
What about you? Do you do a Sunday reset?
