BALANCED WEEKENDS
We spent some time in nature this weekend, going for early morning drives both days. Packed in a flask so we could enjoy some coffee on the side of the road in between birding. It was such an enjoyable start to the day and afterwards went to have breakfast at our favourite coffee shop and restaurant. We did grocery shopping, caught up on some chores at home and then enjoyed the rugby on Saturday.
On Sunday afternoon Mark washed our car and I did a couple of hours of gardening. I always enjoy a weekend that is fun, productive and relaxing so that when Sunday night arrives I feel like I made the most of the time off.
CELEBRATING SMALL WINS
I finally cleared out and organized some cupboards. We have ample storage under our double vanity in the master bathroom but that isn’t an excuse to fill the space with unnecessary things. A bathroom should be inviting and calm so a tidy and clutter-free environment is my go to. Yesterday morning it was a breeze getting ready for work as I could find everything with ease and didn’t waste time looking for last minute items.
TAKE AWAY COFFEE AT THE BEACH
Some mornings we’ve been enjoying a take away coffee before work. Apart from our morning walks (bit cold for that in winter) this is my favourite way to start the work day.
Sitting in the car watching the sunrise light up the sky as a new day begins is a beautiful start to a winter morning.
NEW BOOKS
And a mug I thought was too sweet to resist.
winter baths
I’ve always preferred a shower to a bath but last Thursday I decided to soak in a bubble bath after work.
A warm bath on a winters evening was so enjoyable and add a new book by Louise Candlish - well I could have stayed in for ages.
New dishwasher
It fits perfectly next to our washing machine in the scullery and honestly I don’t know why we took so long to get one! We save so much time in the evenings as doing the dishes has been a breeze.
Load dishwasher, pop in a dishwashing tablet and select a program.
We both agree we should have gotten one ages ago!
