Book review - You shouldn't have come here by Jeneva Rose

This is the first book I’ve read by Jeneva Rose.

Grace is stressed and in need of a break so she books herself a getaway at a remote airbnb ranch. Her host Calvin is welcoming and eager to make her stay as relaxing as possible. Grace isn’t too happy about the lack of cell reception but puts her unease aside as she starts to unwind.

Very soon Grace falls for Calvin who makes it clear he feels the same way.

When her car starts giving trouble, Grace is forced to rely even more on Calvin - who is only to happy to help.

As the days go by, she starts to wonder what really happened to the missing woman Calvin insists never arrived at his airbnb. When Calvin’s brother comes to the ranch it is clear that Calvin is hiding numerous secrets about his past.

Grace starts to realise how little she knows about her host who she is completely reliant on. She’s also forced to admit how remote and isolated the ranch is. How nobody knows where she is and contacting anybody is impossible.

The book is told from both Grace and Calvin’s POV. I found the start of the book to be a bit slow moving and I predicted quite a few of the surprises throughout the book. That said, I didn’t see the huge twist at the end!
