5 Ways I end the year gently
This time of year always flies by too quickly. Instead of focusing on incomplete goals and to-do lists I’m taking a step back to enjoy the last few weeks of a busy 2025.
I’m ending the year gently instead of trying to cram in as much as possible and finishing the end of December exhausted. How am I doing this? With 5 plans in place.
I’M TAKING LEAVE IN DECEMBER
Haven’t done this since 2021 and looking forward to de-stressing before our anniversary, Christmas and new year. I’m really looking forward to being able to fully soak up the season.
i set boundaries and they are non-negotiable
I’m going to a work function next month but as is my habit I’m not doing huge events and get togethers.
I no longer buy into the frantic year end belief you have to see and catch up with every person you’ve ever spoken to since 2005.
each weekend i do a sunday re-set
I read about this a while ago and it has been awesome. Each Sunday I use part of the day preparing for the week. I do laundry and ironing, run around with the vacuum, declutter an area and then in the evening I’ll pamper myself - maybe do a facial mask or my nails. I get what I need ready for the start of the work week and try have an early night.
Each Sunday is slightly different. Today I cleaned the kitchen and scullery and we’ll do a quick grocery shop later.
I have a more detailed post on my Sunday re-set planned which I’ll share before the end of NaBloPoMo
time offline
In the next few weeks there will be loads of curated photos with sponsored products that influencers are being paid to promote.
Whether it is workouts done in designer gear or Pinterest inspired baking in a perfectly sunlit kitchen - I do not compare someone’s highlights to my behind-the-scenes.
I always remind myself of this when scrolling and the festive season is a good time to remember this.
mindfulness
Each morning I’m starting the day with a meditation and during the day I remind myself to be present. Amidst work deadlines and tasks I try to practice mindfulness as much as I can.
What about you? How are you planning to spend the next few weeks?
