Book review - Sunny Days and Sea Breezes by Carole Matthews
Holidays always mean packing in books and I thoroughly enjoyed this one by Carole Matthews.
“Sunny Days and Sea Breezes” is about Jodie who has packed up and left her life in London to spend some time on her brother Bill’s houseboat called Sunny Days.
Trying to process a loss has taking its toll on her and then finding out her husband Chris has been having an affair is the final straw. Jodie needs time to heal and find a way forward and Bill’s houseboat provides a welcome change of scenery.
Jodie expects to have a quiet time while she plans what to do next. However she soon meets Marilyn who Bill has hired to look out for her. And Ned, a Sculptor who is her neighbour on the houseboat next door. With Marilyn and Ned’s encouragement Jodie starts to explore the picturesque seaside town, takes up yoga, makes new friends and attends a festival. It isn’t long before she finds herself falling for Ned.
When she starts to look ahead, Jodie realises she will need to make a huge decision. Go back to her old life or take a risk and explore a new one?
This is such a sweet book with stunning scenery and one of my favourite books by Carole Matthews.
