5 Books I could read (and enjoy) again

the pool house by tasmina perry

This book is set in the Hamptons where Jem and her husband are invited to a house share in a stunning beach house for the summer. Then Jem finds out what happened to Alice who stayed there the previous year and realises that someone in this group is hiding something. While everyone says Alice’s drowning was an accident, Jem believes there is more to what happened than the housemates are sharing.

Told from both Jem and Alice’s points of view it is a riveting read.

Perfect if you enjoy mystery set in a glamourous location.

WATCHING YOU BY LISA JEWELL

Still my absolute favourite book by Lisa Jewell. Josie becomes obsessed with her brother’s neighbour Tom who is a principal at a nearby school. Tom is much older than Josie and married with a son but Josie cannot help but be drawn to this mysterious man.

This book is written from different character’s points of view and while I have thoroughly enjoyed Lisa Jewell’s books for many many years, this remains my favourite.

Perfect for anyone who enjoys suspense.

our holiday by louise candlish

Another book set in summer. This shows the vast difference to the lives of the holiday makers who enjoy second homes and the residents who work hard to make their vacations comfortable but are filled with resentment.

Full of surprises throughout the chapters - this was a book that was difficult to put down.

Perfect for a holiday read with substance.

the fifth letter by nicole moriarty

4 Friends who have known each other since their school days go on their annual getaway together. To shake things up, Joni suggests they each write an anonymous letter revealing a secret they have never shared.

When Joni finds a fifth letter that is partially burned she is shocked to read that someone in the group is carrying a heavy grudge against one of the other 3 friends.

As their getaway unfolds, Joni wonders if you can ever really know anyone - even your closest friends.

Perfect for a dramatic friendship read filled with secrets

THE HUSBAND’S SECRET BY LIANE MORIARTY

Cecilia finds an old letter in her attic which her husband wrote many years before detailing a dreadful confession. Her life is turned upside down as she decides what to do with this shocking news.

This book is told from various points of view and is beautifully written. Really kept me guessing and the epilogue is one of the best I’ve ever read.

Perfect for suspense and surprises.
